अगर मानवीय रिश्तों को 'आत्मा' मान लिया जाय तो मित्रता को आप परमात्मा का वह अंश मान लीजिये, जो हर आत्मा में विराजमान रहती है. परमात्मा का अंश निकलने से मनुष्य की मृत्यु हो जाती है तो मित्रता का अंश निकलने से रिश्ते की.
